Pellissippi State Scholarship Opportunities

Through TnCIS, students at Pellissippi State have multiple study abroad scholarship opportunities available to them. Please see the scholarship information below and follow the directions for how to apply as indicated. Contact Theresa Castillo at tcastillo@pstcc.edu if you have questions. 

Pellissippi State Study Abroad Scholarship
Pellissippi State is a nationally recognized leader among community colleges for study abroad participation. This level of student participation has been made possible through generous scholarships awarded to qualified applicants participating in a TnCIS program. For TnCIS 2023 Spring and Summer programs, eligible students can qualify to receive a 45 - 60% scholarship award based on their program location that will be applied to the payment of their program fee. The requirements for eligibility are on the PSCC Scholarship application

Qualified applicants should submit an application beginning October 1, 2022. Deadline for spring programs is November 1, 2022 and for summer programs is January 31, 2023. Awards are made on a rolling basis. Students receive an email notification of the award after all the required information is processed.  

Karen Anderson Galapagos Islands Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded through the Pellissippi State Foundation. Students accepted to the TnCIS Ecuador/Galapagos Islands program may qualify for this scholarship if they meet the following criteria.
  • Enrollment as Pellissippi State adult student over age of 25 preferred, but all TnCIS Ecuador applicants may apply
  • Demonstrated financial need, but not required to comply with state or federal guidelines
  • Must maintain an overall GPA of 2.0

Edwards Family Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded through the Pellissippi State Foundation. Pending available funds, a scholarship may be awarded in the spring semester to a student majoring in education and accepted into a study abroad program offered through the Tennessee Consortium of International Studies. If there is no Education Major a Music major studying abroad may be awarded. Student applicants must meet the following criteria.
  • Full time student
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Demonstrate financial need but not required to comply with state or federal financial aid guidelines
  • Written recommendation letter from a faculty advisor, teacher or recognized professional such as an employer

Helen Anderson Sharp Opportunity Award: This scholarship is awarded through the Pellissippi State Foundation. This award is open annually to Pellissippi State Community College students meeting the following scholarship criteria:
Preference given to female student
  • GPA of 2.5 or above
  • FAFSA on file or ability to demonstrate financial need
  • Student has the opportunity to fully fund travel to/from and participate in a professional development or enrichment activity, such as a conference, competition, Skills USA or workshop.
The ideal experience is one that will allow the student to broaden her horizons and meet potential long term mentors and influencers. Award amount is typically $1,000 and will be announced by the Foundation in an award letter to the recipient. Click here to begin a PSCC Foundation Scholarship application.
