All TnCIS programs are academic in nature and course work that takes advantage of the program location will be the central focus. Programs offered by TnCIS through any member institution are in keeping with SACSCOC policies for each respective institution where compliance is monitored at the institutional level. TnCIS program courses are for credit only.

Turkey provides a unique cultural context that combines elements of European, Middle Eastern, and Central Asian cultures. Students will have the opportunity to study Music and Computer Science in this modern and pivotal nation. Students studying in Turkey may make visits to cultural and historic sites in the cities of Istanbul, Izmir, Fethiye, and Ankara. Students will be hosted by Yasar University (7 days), Middle East Technical University (3 days), and Bogazici University (6 days), and they will stay in Fethiye (5 days).
Please note: Prospective students should be aware that study abroad programs require a great deal of walking. You should be prepared to walk at least 2 to 3 miles each day. You may also walk over uneven, possibly slippery or rocky terrain, even in cities.
Excursions May IncludeIn Istanbul students may see the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Taksim Square and have a Bosporus boat tour.In Izmir, students may have an opportunity to see the House of Virgin Mary and other sites of importance to Greek mythology (e.g. Ephesus). The Cesme area and beaches may also be visited. In Fethiye, students will stay in a resort hotel and may visit historical sites (e.g. Lycian sites, Oludeniz Lagoon).Other excursions to relevant locations to the coursework will also be planned.
Courses will be taught at 3-4 hours a day during the week. Some classes may take place onsite during excursions.
