Faculty members at TnCIS member institutions (all TBR institutions) have two options for participating in study abroad programs.
Option 1 – Teach a Course in an Existing TnCIS Program
Faculty can apply to teach a course in an existing study abroad program in one of the 15 sites worldwide. This requires the online application, course syllabus and CV.
Option 2 – Propose a New TnCIS Program
Faculty may propose an entirely new TnCIS program somewhere around the world. This requires making all arrangements overseas, directing and teaching in the proposed program.
Complete instructions are available through the two option links below.
Option 1: Teaching in an Existing TnCIS Program
TnCIS presently offers fifteen summer study abroad programs. Each program has a faculty director, but the course offering is not the same each year. Faculty members from all 19 member institutions are invited to submit an application to teach a course in their field in one of the existing programs. It can be a regular offering in your department which you adapt to teach abroad or you might also use a Special Topics or Seminar course to do something abroad which is more unique.
Please note that some programs have a special focus which may not suit your field so you need to read the program descriptions listed on the instructions page. Click here for the online application.
Option 2: Proposing a New TnCIS Program
This option requires a much larger commitment over a period of a few years. It consists of planning all arrangements abroad, budgeting, providing a syllabus for a course to be taught in the program, directing the program during the summer, and perhaps seeking another faculty member to teach a course during the first year.
